TCU is coming off one of the biggest wins in school history, a 47-7 victory at Utah. The next step on the road to a BCS game is San Diego State Saturday at home. This will be the last home game before renovations to Amon G. Carter Stadium begin. SDSU has a 7-2 record and is coming in hot, having won its last four games. The Aztecs' two losses were by a combined six points. TCU has hit its stride this season, so both teams will be ready to play. When TCU is on offense

After rolling over UNLV 48-6 last week, the Horned Frogs face their toughest challenge this season in unbeaten Utah. The Utes jumped to No. 5 in the BCS standings after defeating Air Force, 28-23. This sets up the first Top-10 matchup in Mountain West Conference history. The team that wins this game will have the opportunity to play in a BCS game and possibly the national championship. The loser will have to struggle to make up ground in the standings and will most likely not make it to a BCS game. When TCU is on offense

After the BCS standings came out this past week, Horned Frog fans were pleasantly surprised to see TCU ranked No. 4 in the nation. With a dominating win against the UNLV Rebels, the Frogs could leap Boise State, since the two teams are only separated by .0013 points in the BCS standings. UNLV has had a rough year. The team is 1-6, with its only win coming against New Mexico. TCU should use this opportunity to prepare for the massive showdown with Utah next weekend. When TCU is on offense

Rangers starting pitching vs. Giants starting pitching Good starting pitching will be the key to determine who will win the World Series this year. The Texas rotation will be Cliff Lee, C.J. Wilson, Colby Lewis and Tommy Hunter. The Giants will use Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain, Jonathan Sanchez and Madison Bumgarner. Six of the eight pitchers are under the age of 30, so it will be interesting to watch how the young pitchers handle the pressure of the World Series.

After defeating the Yankees in Game 3 of the ALCS the Rangers have the advantage. In Game 4 the Yankees will send troubled starter A.J. Burnett (10-15 5.26 ERA) to the mound. Burnett was part of the massive offseason shopping spree the Yankees had two years ago. Burnett was given a five-year, $82.5 million deal. So far he has been not been playing up to his ability. This creates a major problem for the Yankees rotation. If the Yankees lose Game 4 then they will be one game away from elimination.

The TCU football schedule starts to get tougher this weekend with a game against Brigham Young University. BYU has had a rough season so far, losing four straight games until it looked much better in a win against San Diego State University this past week. After that win, the Cougars will be fired up when they roll into Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday. Last week the Horned Frogs shut out Wyoming and the defense will look to continue dominating opponents. TCU is currently top-ranked in the nation in total defense. When TCU is on offense:

Wyoming won their second game of the season against Toledo 20-15 last weekend. The Cowboys will face a much tougher test against the No. 5 Horned Frogs. TCU remains ranked fifth for a second week and is competing with Boise State in the rankings. Boise State was passed by Oregon in this week's polls. Wyoming offers a direct comparison between TCU and Boise State since the Broncos throttled Wyoming 51-6 September 18. TCU must use this game to gear up for tougher games on this schedule such as Air Force and Utah. When TCU has the ball

After being leapfrogged by the University of Oregon in the polls following a less than spectacular victory at Southern Methodist University, TCU football will look to rebound at Colorado State University on Saturday in the Frogs' Mountain West Conference opener. Colorado State is coming off its first win of the year, beating Idaho 36-34 last weekend and ending a 12-game losing streak for the CSU Rams. TCU must win convincingly in order to prevent dropping further in the polls. When TCU is on offense

The Battle for the Iron Skillet resumes on Friday night in Dallas. The Mustangs are on the rise after snapping a 17-game losing streak against BCS opponents after beating Washington State 35-21 last weekend. The Horned Frogs are coming off a 45-10 rout of Baylor and are looking to extend their regular season win streak to 17. The last ranked team the Mustangs beat was TCU in 2005.
