This is the first segment in a series of articles where TCU Sports Now's Aundre Dean will try his hand at different sports around campus. In this installment, Dean learns the finer aspects of rugby: Tuesday, I had a fish out of water experience with the TCU rugby team as I got a chance to play and learn the sport with them.

Arlington Martin running back and TCU signee Kyle Hicks said he thought the University of Texas at Austin was his dream school, but after visiting TCU, he had a change of heart. "It was just a good feeling after my TCU trip," Hicks said. "I saw myself watching more TCU games than anything, and that’s when I just knew TCU was more for me.”

For five weeks, a group of education majors made the 15 to 20 minute drive down Interstate 30 to visit the Montessori Children’s House. All six students in the group are part of Ranae Stetson's Intro to Early Childhood Education class. According to Stetson, the class is the first in a two-year program all education majors must complete.

No ball, no pads and no referee. There is just a field and seven players advancing an airborne disk toward the goal line. It's ultimate frisbee. It has been around since the ‘60s, and the university has a team that regularly plays the unusual sport, according to the team captain.

Fort Worth police came to campus Monday in order to enforce jaywalking laws on University Drive. Two police officers on motorcycles parked on the sidewalk for 20 minutes to hand out tickets to offenders.

In support of breast cancer awareness, the Iota Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is making their mark with an event titled “Real Men Wear Pink.” “As a sorority (Delta Sigma Theta) we do a lot to inform students about health issues, but I personally know people that have breast cancer so these types of events mean a lot to me,” said Kenya Nelson, junior social work major and member of Delta Sigma Theta.

Elementary students at Montessori Children's House will not be attending college for more than a decade, but Thursday they were given the opportunity to be TCU students for one day when they made a trip to campus.

With gas prices at more than $3 per gallon and limited parking spots on campus, some students are opting for electric scooters.  The university provided designated parking spaces for manual scooters and bicycles at the bike racks, or in special motorcycle parking spots.
