TCU rifle will be one of two all-female teams to participate at the 2013 National Championships. The team is no stranger to competing against co-ed or male teams because TCU is only one of four major teams to have an all-female squad, coach Karen Monez said.

TCU rifle has a shot at its third national championship title in four years, as the team was selected as one of the top eight teams to compete in the NCAA Championship. The top eight teams were announced Wednesday evening. The competitors are TCU, West Virginia, Kentucky, Alaska-Fairbanks, Jacksonville State, Army, Nebraska and Air Force.

 Count Me In, a new program, aims to be the equivalent of the Senior Class Legacy program, Harmonie Farrow, director of student and young alumni programs, said. The Senior Class Legacy program, which started in 1993, is responsible for the bricks outside the Mary Couts Burnett Library.

The No. 2 rifle team takes on the No. 7 Air Force Academy Saturday in the NCAA Qualifier for a spot in the NCAA Championships. Both teams are competing for one of the top eight spots at the NCAA Championships. Teams across the country go into their respective matches with their top three scores already calculated.

The women’s rifle will travel to the University of Texas at El Paso this weekend for their last regular season match. The No. 2 ranked team will shoot against No. 20 UTEP Saturday. The team is hot off their win against No. 4 Alaska and looks to extend their 21-match win streak.

Construction on the Bass Building parking lot resulted in the addition of a new shuttle stop outside Smith Hall for the TCU campus shuttles. Fewer students are riding the shuttle, Angelia Franklin, shuttle bus driver and supervisor, said. She attributed the decrease in riders to the construction in the Bass parking lot.
