Christina Castillo decided if she did not get her college degree now, she never would. “I have a lot of faith in God, and I think he let me be unafraid about going back to school,” Castillo said. “I realized there is nothing to be afraid of, so I just went for it.”

TCU football is making its way up the USA Today and Associated Press poll after the 36-35 win against Boise State. The Frogs now stand at No. 19 after ranking No. 24 in last week's USA Today poll. TCU is back in the AP Top 25 where the team stands at No. 19.  Last week, TCU did not rank in the AP Top 25 but still received 56 votes.

Junior finance major Brent Folan rolled in enough votes from the TCU student body to be elected as the new SGA president.

The African Heritage Organization took students on a safari of African culture Thursday night. The Safari Thru Africa included African food and traditional dance and fashion shows, which displayed jewelry and clothes. Skits, martial arts demonstrations and other entertainment were also featured.

Although TCU won 38-28 against BYU Friday night, the Frogs did not make it back into the AP Top 25 poll or the USA Today poll.  The Horned Frogs just missed the AP Top 25 rankings, but receieved 26 votes. They also received 55 votes in the USA Today Poll. AP Poll

SuperFrog is competing against 15 different mascots from nine conferences for the title of the 2011 Capital One National Mascot of the Year. The competition will continue through the football season and the mascot that comes out on top will be determined by fan voting.

Both the women’s soccer team and the women’s swimming & diving teams will see action tonight to kick off TCU’s Homecoming Weekend. The TCU women’s soccer team will take on the Broncos tonight at Boise State University. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. TCU women’s soccer is currently 7-8-1 overall and 1-3-0 in the conference.

One Horned Frog athlete from the men’s swimming and diving team was picked to represent his home country at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. Senior business major, Edgar Crespo is one of two swimmers that will represent Team Panama during the competition that lasts from Oct. 14 through Oct. 30.
