In an effort to curb migratory bird nesting, the City of Fort Worth will be deploying propane cannons near the TCU campus for several days, according to a press release from the university's department of communications.
The release warns that the cannons are very loud and may sound like gunfire.

The emergency phones marked by blue lights on campus are temporarily out of order, according to an email from TCU Director of Communications Lisa Albert.
The issue was discovered during a routine check of them Sunday, and at this hour TCU Police are working to resolve the issue, Albert wrote.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner ruled that a TCU student who died on Jan. 29 suffered an accidental heroin overdose.
The ruling comes nearly three months after Ty Pickens was found unresponsive at a friend’s apartment. Pickens was soon transported to Baylor All Saints Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

TCU student journalists were honored Saturday for excellence in journalism at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association annual convention in Fort Worth, taking home several awards across multiple categories.
A total of 46 awards were given out recognizing the Schieffer School of Journalism's multiple platforms including online, print and broadcast.

TCU Police arrested Tyriq Butler Monday morning in connection to a string of iPhone thefts, according to Sgt. Kelly Ham.
Butler's arrest followed an investigation conducted by TCU Police. Butler, a Pantego resident, is not a TCU student.
The investigation began March 13 when an iPhone was stolen from the weight room in the University Recreation Center, Ham said.

Fort Worth police are searching for a man who robbed the Shell station at the corner of West Berry Street and University Drive Saturday, according to a crime bulletin from TCU Police.

TCU Police say a change in the interpretation of federal law means that unless there is an imminent threat to safety, they won't be sending campus-wide email alerts about crimes such as sexual assault and robbery that occur on or near campus.
Police Chief Steve McGee said the change in practice was implemented after he attended a Clery Act Training Seminar in January.
