Andrew Mitchell struck out 13 batters and threw seven scoreless innings, while Kevin Cron drove in two runs, as the TCU baseball team beat Air Force 5-0 Friday night at Lupton Stadium.
Mitchell (4-2) only gave up three hits to the Falcons and walked just one batter as the Horned Frogs won their fourth in a row, improving to 18-13 on the year and 7-3 in Mountain West play.
The win was Mitchell's second straight. The sophomore threw 6.2 scoreless innings and struck out 10 against UNC-Wilmington April 5.
Cron singled up the middle in the first inning to drive in Jerrick Suiter then doubled to left field in the third inning to score Josh Elander.
Cron hit his first career home run against UT-Arlington on Wednesday.
The Frogs and Falcons (8-23, 3-7) will be back in action Saturday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. Freshman Preston Morrison is scheduled to get the start on the mound for TCU.
