A man is serving a seven-month jail sentence after pleading guilty to a string of smart phone thefts in the TCU Rec Center. Tyriq Butler, 22, pled guilty to a theft of property charge under $1,500 and two prior convictions, which is a third degree felony. Butler was arrested in March on suspicion of stealing smart phones from the TCU Rec Center’s weight room.

The Trinity Shakespeare Festival celebrates its fifth anniversary at TCU this summer with productions of Taming of the Shrew and Julius Caesar.

Former TCU cornerback David Jenkins, who was dismissed from the university Friday following his arrest on warrants for suspicion of burglary, stole two laptops from residence halls in May, according to TCU Police reports. Jenkins, an LSU transfer, is a suspect in the theft of two laptops from rooms in Moncrief Residence Hall on May 28 and May 30.
