TCU senior receiver Skye Dawson will be suspended for the Horned Frogs’ season opener Saturday against Grambling State, coach Gary Patterson said Tuesday at his weekly press luncheon.
Dawson won’t play due to an “institutional policy and a football policy” matter, Patterson said. Dawson should return next week at Kansas.
Dawson, a Dallas native, ranked second on the team last year in receptions (45), receiving yards (500) and touchdowns (5). He scored the go-ahead touchdown and earned offensive MVP honors last December during the Frogs’ 31-24 win over Louisiana Tech in the Poinsettia Bowl.
