Patterson: Tucker will be a gametime decision on Saturday
Posted October 2, 2012
Running back Matthew Tucker will be a gametime decision Saturday against Iowa State, TCU head coach Gary Patterson said Tuesday at his weekly press conference.
Tucker, a senior, suffered an ankle injury last Saturday against SMU.
“He won’t be 100 percent all year,” Patterson said of Tucker. “Will he play? It’ll be a gametime decision, but he’s better than he was Saturday.”
Patterson suggested backup quarterback Trevone Boykin could be featured at running back.
The Horned Frogs lost junior running back Waymon James to a knee injury after the Kansas game. True freshman B.J. Catalon and senior Aundre Dean have split carries behind Tucker in James’ absence.
