TCU linebacker Kenny Cain and offensive guard Blaize Foltz will play in collegiate all-star games next month.

Cain was selected to play in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game in Tucson, Ariz., on Jan. 11 while Foltz will appear in the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Jan 19.

Cain earned first-team Associated Press All-Big 12 honors and led TCU in tackles (74) for the second straight season. He had a career-high 14 tackles against Texas which were the most by a TCU linebacker since Martin Patterson had 20 versus USF in 2004.

Cain could become the first Frog to lead the team in tackles for consecutive seasons since Jason Phillips, now with the Carolina Panthers, did in 2007-08. Cain surpassed his team-high total of 72 stops from last season. He was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after his two interceptions, fumble recovery and four tackles in a 27-7 win over Virginia.

The Metairie, La., native was the lone senior on the depth chart for a TCU defense that ranked first in the Big 12 and No. 18 in the nation while facing five of the nation’s top-12 offenses this season.

Foltz was also an All-Big 12 selection and an honorable mention for Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. He appeared on the watch lists for the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi Award.

The Rose Hill, Kan., native started all 12 games at right tackle and was a key part of an offensive line that helped the Frogs rank No. 4 nationally in time of possession at 33:13 per game.
