Junior forward Amric Fields is likely out for the rest of the year with a knee injury, according to TCU head coach Trent Johnson.

“He’s probably done for the year,” Johnson said. “I think we’re gonna move forward without him.”

The 6-foot-8 junior has missed the last three games with a recurring knee injury that's been plaguing him all season.

“My gut feels right now that he’s done for the remainder of the year,” Johnson said.

With the Frogs 0-16 in conference play and the season nearly over, Johnson felt that the risk of playing Fields would outweigh the reward of having him play. The loss of Fields marks the fifth player that TCU has lost for the season this year.

“It seems like [every] week, it’s something else,” Johnson said.

TCU lost freshman center Aaron Durley and junior forward Devonta Abron before the season even began. Sophomore forward Chris Washburn and senior guard Trey Zeigler were then ruled ineligibile by the NCAA due to transfer rules

Out of the team's 16 total players, only four have played in every game this season.

The remaining players tip off with the No. 24 Texas Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night from the Erwin Center.
