C.J Hinojosa proved to be the thorn in TCU’s side, as the Horned Frogs couldn’t pull off the sweep, falling to the Texas Longhorns 3-0. Hinojosa, dating back to Friday’s game, reached base in eight straight at-bats and drove in two runs Saturday, leading the Longhorns to a victory.

What started as a neck-and-neck game turned into an ugly meltdown from the Texas Longhorns, as 4,212 fans saw three Longhorns get ejected and surrender six runs in one inning to the TCU Horned Frogs.

Eight student-athletes of the Horned Frog baseball team were named as Academic All Big-12 performers, announced by the league on Thursday. The first team honorees, Kyle Bacak, Kevin Cron, Josh Gonzales, Andrew Mitchell, Preston Morrison and Jantzen Witte, earned GPAs of 3.2 or better and participated in at least 60% of the team’s games.

Derek Odell homered and drove in the go-ahead run to help TCU rally for a 5-4 win over USC Thursday night. The Horned Frogs scored twice in the eighth inning to complete the comeback. The Frogs trailed 4-2 in the final three innings, but the Frogs scored once in the seventh and twice in the eighth to rally for the victory.

TCU’s starter Brandon Finnegan threw a complete game, but an unearned run in the second inning was enough to give Kansas State the 2-1 win Saturday. With the win, Kansas State also won the series, breaking TCU’s streak of three-straight Big 12 Conference series wins.
