TCU sophomore Julien Brun is the first Horned Frog to be named as a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award, the award given to America’s top collegiate golfer.

Senior Eli Cole did not have many division one offers coming out of high school. He had never heard of TCU, and TCU had never heard of him. Nonetheless, he is a senior Horned Frog golfer, ranked at No. 81 in the nation, and as graduation is coming up, he plans to continue playing in Japan.

The Frogs finished their inaugural Big 12 Golf Championship with a fourth place team finish Wednesday at Prairie Dunes Country Club. TCU finished +31 while Texas claimed the conference championship with a +19, four shots over runner-up Oklahoma State. The Frogs now have top-five finishes at conference tournaments eight straight years running.

Recruiting a group of young men from all parts of the world and bringing them together as a nationally ranked top-10 team is one of men's golf head coach Bill Montigel's skills. However, if anyone asked the coach about his recruiting capabilities, he said he does not take any recognition.

The TCU men's golf team's postseason play begins Monday as the squad travels to Hutchinson, Kan., for its inaugural appearance in the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship. Competition extends through Wednesday at Prairie Dunes Country Club, the location for the championships for the eleventh time. The course is a par-70 measuring 6,759 yards.

The TCU men’s tennis team celebrated its seniors and a 4-3 win over Texas Tech. The victory Friday night squared up the Horned Frogs’ Big 12 record at 2-2 while moving their overall mark to 17-7. Tech dropped to 15-9 overall and 1-3 in league play. TCU ended a four-match edge against Tech dating back to the team’s latest victory in 2008.

The men’s golf team held on for a narrow victory at Crabapple Course at Capital City Club against Georgia Tech. TCU took three of Friday’s six individual matches.

The No. 6 TCU men’s golf team will compete against No. 8 Georgia Tech on Friday in Atlanta, Ga. The dual match will take place at Capital City Club's Crabapple Course, which is also the host site for this year’s NCAA Championships later this month.

The men’s golf team finished the final round of the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in third place Sunday at the University of Texas Golf Course. The No. 7 Frogs shared the lead entering the final round with No. 3 Texas and No. 4 New Mexico.

The No. 7 men’s golf team will begin competition at the annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate at the University of Texas April 13 and 14. The 14-team field consists of all Golfweek/Sagarin top-100 ranked teams, including No. 3 UT, No. 4 New Mexico and No. 14 Oklahoma State.
