After a loss to Wyoming, the TCU volleyball team is on its way to New Mexico to compete in the 2011 Mountain West Championship. “I’m excited, and I think that last loss to Wyoming stung us pretty good,” senior communication studies major Kristen Hester said. “I think we’re going to have more fight than ever.”

TCU defeated the UNLV Rebels 3-0 last night in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Lady Frogs are currently ranked 2nd in the Mountain West Conference standings after their 3-0 win against Boise State this past Saturday. The recent full sweep of TCU’s last three opponents was a big encouragement for the team, senior outside hitter Jordan Raines said.

The TCU women’s volleyball team breezed past Air Force, beating the Falcons in straight sets 3-0 Thursday night at the University Recreation Center. The win improved the Frogs to 6-3 in Mountain West play and moved the team into second place in the conference standings. TCU is now 19-4 on the season.

The TCU volleyball team will travel to Fort Collins, Colo., Saturday to take on Colorado State at 1 p.m. The Colorado State Rams (11-4) had a five-game winning streak snapped when they lost to Wyoming in Laramie this past Saturday. They are 6-1 at home this season.

TCU hosts San Diego State tonight at the University Recreation Center. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and will air live on The Mtn. TCU just had two perfect weekends, and SDSU suffered a four-set loss to No. 21 Colorado State Sunday. The Horned Frogs improved to 16-1 overall after defeating Boise State and Air Force.

The TCU volleyball team will try to stay undefeated in Mountain West conference action when they travel to Boise State to take on the Broncos tonight at 8 p.m. The Lady Frogs won their last time out, a 3-1 victory at New Mexico Friday night. The win over the Lobos ran TCU’s near-perfect record to 14-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
