Kansas opened the second half on an 13-6 run and never looked back, ousting the Frogs in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship.  The two regular season contests between these sides were decided by a mere 8 points, but Kansas's offensive production overwhelmed TCU's zone defense and gave the Jayhawks the 83-61 victory.

The university women's basketball team has two games left to build up some momentum before entering the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Tournament March 8 in its inaugural season. There are few bigger confidence boosters than knocking off an Iowa State Cyclones' (20-6 overall, 11-5 Big 12) team who is second in the Big 12 standings behind Baylor.

A cold second half shooting performance prevented TCU from winning their second Big 12 conference game. West Virginia (16-10 overall, 8-7 Big 12) completed the regular season sweep of TCU (8-18, 1-14) with a 66-56 win Saturday evening. The stat lines in the box score was fairly even, but the deciding moment began five minutes into the second half.

Spirits were high Wednesday evening when TCU earned its first Big 12 Conference victory, but the celebration could end Saturday when West Virginia comes to Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

Daniel-Meyer Coliseum was quickly overrun by a pinked-out TCU team that pulled off a dramatic 64-63 win, defeating Oklahoma State in the closing seconds of a Wednesday evening thriller.
