Art History majors noticed a lack of community within their major and took measures to fix this by creating a club.  The Art History Society is a student-led organization that was established this semester.

Better Together, an interfaith community service organization, partnered with the Tarrant Literacy Coalition (TLC) on Monday to collect books and donations. Children's books and monetary contributions were both accepted. The donations will be used to fund a holiday event on Dec. 3, Jennifer Rollins, program development assistant at TLC, said.

Students packed the Brown-Lupton University Union Ballroom Tuesday night to watch men from 12 different fraternities compete for the ultimate crown, the title Mr. ZTA. Zeta Tau Alpha held its annual philanthropy, Mr. ZTA, to benefit Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. The competition featured a yogurt eating contest, swimsuit competition, and a talent portion.

The Student Government Association Judicial Branch that will be ruling on student body president Brent Folan’s impeachment proceeding will be meeting later this week, Chief Justice Granger Talley said. The formal proceeding would probably happen next week, he said.

A traveling art exhibit creating awareness for domestic violence toured around campus during the month of October. The Safe City Commission holds an art contest every year called "Imagine No Violence", Tracy Tucker, the assistant dean of campus life, said.  The contestants were middle and high school students from the surrounding Fort Worth communities.

With the popularity of graduate programs at the university growing in recent years, funding for these programs can be scarce, said the associate provost of academic affairs. “The good part is, the graduate financial aid budget has increased steadily each year,” Dr. Bonnie Melhart, the associate provost of academic affairs and dean of university programs, said. “The bad part is that the needs for graduate financial aid have increased much faster.”
