TCU women’s soccer team will face the University of Maryland Terrapins on Friday night.

Maryland will enter the game Friday with a record of 3-1, while the Frogs picked up their first win of the season at Illinois State University on Sunday. After three tough road games against the traditional powerhouse schools University of Arkansas, University of Missouri, and University of Illinois, the TCU women found their stride against ISU in a comfortable 2-0 win.

The Frogs are going to need to rely on their defensive stalwarts, Bobbi Clemmer and Lauren Sajewich, to help stifle a Maryland attack that has scored in three of its four games this season.

Maryland sophomore forward Alex Anthony is off to an electric start in 2015, leading the Terps with three goals in four starts. She leads the team with ten shots on goal (SOG), making herself a nuisance to every back line Maryland has faced thus far.

Not only will the TCU back line have Anthony to contend with, but also redshirt junior forward Gabby Galanti.

A year removed from an ACL injury that caused her to miss a majority of her sophomore season, Galanti is eager to prove herself alongside Anthony, her strike partner. A breakout game against TCU would only help to solidify Galanti’s spot in Maryland’s starting 11.

If the TCU strikers hope to get on the board early Friday night, they will need to find a way to break down senior defensive duo Shannon Collins and Kayla Shea. The anchors of a back line that has conceded only one goal in four games, Collins and Shea have already established the Maryland defensive unit as a force to be reckoned with.

Kickoff for the game is at 7 p.m at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
