TCU track runner Charles Silmon won the NCAA 100-meter dash national championship Friday, with a wind-aided time of 9.89 seconds. Silmon is the second Horned Frog to win the national championship in the 100-meter dash. In 1987 and 1989, Raymond Stewarts won the title in the event.

TCU Football announced its early season game times and TV plans Tuesday morning in a press release from TCU Athletics. The Horned Frog football team will begin its 2013 season with an Aug. 31 match versus LSU set to kickoff at 8 p.m. on ESPN from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

TCU's swimming and diving team is teaching children to “Learn to Swim the Olympic Way” throughout the summer through swimming classes.

Almost 200 new students attended the first summer Orientation session Sunday night in the BLUU, according to assistant director of transitions Lindsay Knight. Knight said that 190 new students and over 300 parents and family members attended the event.
