A cold second half shooting performance prevented TCU from winning their second Big 12 conference game. West Virginia (16-10 overall, 8-7 Big 12) completed the regular season sweep of TCU (8-18, 1-14) with a 66-56 win Saturday evening. The stat lines in the box score was fairly even, but the deciding moment began five minutes into the second half.

Bill Self didn't show Kansas any extra video from its previous game against TCU. His guys could probably recall every play anyway. It was just over two weeks ago that the mighty Jayhawks, eight-time defending Big 12 champs, were waylaid on the road by a team that hasn't won another conference game all season.

TCU rifle has a shot at its third national championship title in four years, as the team was selected as one of the top eight teams to compete in the NCAA Championship. The top eight teams were announced Wednesday evening. The competitors are TCU, West Virginia, Kentucky, Alaska-Fairbanks, Jacksonville State, Army, Nebraska and Air Force.

Sometimes, you just can’t squeeze wine from a turnip. At least, that’s what TCU baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle said after his team fell to the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 6-2. Schlossnagle said his players might be trying too hard to find a win.
