Music in the 109 this week, July 18-23

What’s better than live music right outside your doorstep? This week, venues in the 109 have live music to offer almost every night.

To all of you classic rock fans, Tuesday nights at The Moon are just for you. Big Mike’s Box of Rock plays every Tuesday at 10 p.m. They play cover shows with classic rock from the 60’s to the 90’s. Big Mike’s Box of Rock was recently in the running for the best cover/ tribute artist in the 2011 FW Weekly Music Awards.

Not up for live music? Karaoke at Rock Bottom is always a hit. Every Wednesday is karaoke with free entry, awesome drink specials, and a late night menu. Come out and show everyone what you’ve got.

All the way from California, The Mick Donovan Band is playing at the Aardvark this Thursday, July 21. The show will be opened at 10 p.m. by the Rebel Download Band, and followed by The Mick Donovan Band at 11:30 p.m. Both bands play Alternative/ Rock music, and the cover will be from $12 to $15.

If you’re wondering where you can hear some great hip-hop, we’ve got the answer. A local hip-hop band, Ko49, is playing Friday, July 22, at The Cellar at 9 p.m.

Throw your cowboy boots on to enjoy some free Texas Country at Rock Bottom. Jordon Smith will be playing cover songs Saturday, July 23, starting at 10:30 p.m.
