On Friday, Sept. 30 ten students from Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts performed with the traveling Broadway cast in The Wizard of Oz.

Catie Humphreys is the Munchkin Coordinator for the national tour of The Wizard of OZ. Humphreys said that they invite children to perform in their musical in every city they travel to.

“It’s a great way to get the community involved,” Humphreys said in an email.

Humphreys does not tour with the show, but coordinates the actors in each of the 50 cities the show will travel to.

“As I’m not actually on tour with the children, I hear reports from the company and see little clips in some towns. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the children in Ft. Worth. I could tell from rehearsal clips that they really knew what they were doing and had developed some great characters, they really took their direction of this program and brought it to the next level!” Humphreys said.
