The congregation of First Congregational United Church of Christ practice "Being the Church" during Fifth Sunday by spending time doing service for others.  The project has grown over the past year from a small, inward focus to an outward reaching, community focus.  The day is spent with a quick worship service followed by various service projects including grounds work, cookies and cards for home-bound members, letters on behalf of Amnesty International, blanket tying for the Day Resource Center, and garden work at Westcliff Elementary.
