Students, faculty and staff at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) wore tutus throughout the school day Tuesday to show their support for the spring ballet.

Clint Riley, executive director, came up with the idea of Tutu Tuesday to encourage people to attend the show. By having a day dedicated to promoting the ballet, he hopes to attract larger audiences.

The production is a ballet double bill of “Les Sylphides” and Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.”

“Les Sylphides” is a Romantic-era ballet, where guest artist Shea Johnson will perform the lead role and be accompanied onstage by FWAFA’s Academy Dance Company. Dancers from all FWAFA dance companies will perform original choreography by teachers Sheyna Ferraro and Shelly Torres to Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.”

The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, located at 3901 S. Hulen Street.
