This week in Paschal sports: Winter weather shuffles calendar

The sleet and snow sweeping through North Texas this week has moved a few things around on the Paschal athletic schedule.
The weather caused a number of games to be postponed or cancelled, with the Lady Panthers soccer team having to reschedule a game twice. Here’s a rundown of everything that happened, as well as what’s coming up in Paschal sports.

Boys Soccer

Paschal scored a barrage of goals in a 7-2 romp over Weatherford Wednesday. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was postponed after Fort Worth Independent School District closed due to inclement weather. It was a bounce-back win for Paschal after they fell 1-0 at North Crowley last Friday.
The Panthers (8-4-1, Dist. 4-6A 6-3-0) have now won three of their last four heading into tonight’s matchup with Arlington Lamar. Paschal is tied for second in the district with Arlington Martin, trailing only Arlington Sam Houston in the standings.

Girls Soccer

The Lady Panthers fell on the road to Weatherford 1-0 Thursday afternoon after the game was rescheduled twice. The match was rescheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday due to winter weather. It was then rescheduled again because there was no one to officiate on Wednesday, according to Weatherford soccer’s Facebook page.
The loss came after Paschal recorded a 3-0 victory at home last Friday against North Crowley. The Lady Panthers will face Lamar at home tonight at 7:30.

Baseball

The Paschal baseball team will have to wait until next week for its season to get underway. The Panthers were supposed to open their schedule this weekend in Granbury at the Granbury Classic Chevrolet Tournament. However, the tournament was cancelled due to weather. Paschal will have to wait until the Burleson Tournament starts next Thursday for its season to officially begin.
