UPDATE: Even though the latest round of winter has already passed, its effects are here to stay in Fort Worth.
“Snow, sleet and freezing rain that has fallen in the last 24 hours will continue to create hazardous travel conditions this morning,” according to a National Weather Service advisory that will remain in effect until Thursday noon.
All major schools and universities in the area have closed and officials are advising residents to limit their travel as much as possible.

Winter is visiting Fort Worth once more.
After multiple rounds of snow and ice last week, another storm will roll into the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex late Wednesday and early Thursday and cause problems for commuters.
“Accumulating ice, sleet, and snow will create hazardous travel conditions, beginning Wednesday evening and continuing through Thursday morning,” according to the National Weather Service, in a winter weather advisory that goes until Thursday at noon.
The National Weather Service says around 1 inch of sleet and snow will fall in the area, with isolated totals of 3 inches possible.
Temperatures will stay in the mid to upper 20s, preventing much of the precipitation from melting by Thursday morning’s commute.
As of 8 p.m., most Fort Worth schools have yet to cancel or delay classes.  TCU announced shortly after 7 p.m. that Thursday classes would be canceled. Stay updated on the winter weather with the109.org throughout the night.
