David Hidalgo, the man accused of killing TCU senior Stewart Trese last year, was scheduled to accept or decline a plea bargain this morning, but his court appearance has been rescheduled.

Hidalgo’s defense attorney Edwin Youngblood was present for his 9 a.m. slot on the docket, but Hidalgo’s case was not heard.

Last year, Hidalgo was charged with fatally stabbing Trese in the Grand Marc apartment complex.

Sandra Cordona, Hidalgo's mother, turned him in to the TCU Police on Feb. 4, 2014. She reported to police that her son told her he had stabbed someone that morning, according to an arrest warrant affidavit released Feb. 12, 2014.

Hidalgo was arrested after a police search of his home found bloody clothing and a bloody knife, according to the affidavit. Hidalgo was put in Tarrant County jail on $100,000 bond.

Hidalgo's court appearance date is reset for April 6 at 9 a.m.
