College students seem to have a reliance on caffeine to get them through lectures and late night study sessions, but there are healthier alternatives to power through the day.

Two new H&M locations coming to Fort Worth

Popular Swedish fashion retailer H&M is opening two more stores in Tarrant County.
“H&M is especially excited to expand its reach to Fort Worth,” the retailer said in a press release. “The new locations will offer Fort Worth residents a one-stop shopping destination for quality clothing for the whole family.”
H&M has 13 stores in Texas, including six in the Dallas area. The only Tarrant County location opened at Grapevine Mills mall in 2012.
“There are a number of factors that determine where we open new stores,” said Camilla Falk, H&M’s head of media relations. “The most important are customer base, best location and best business conditions.”
The first store will be located in downtown Fort Worth’s Sundance Square. H&M said it has leased the building of the old Barnes & Noble bookstore between Third and Commerce streets.
The 31,000 square-foot store plans to include three floors of men and women’s clothing, as well as a separate “store within a store” section for accessories and sports apparel.
Sundance Square has begun transitioning from small boutique stores to popular retailers. Along with the downtown addition of H&M, current popular retailers include Jos. A. Bank, White House Black Market and LOFT.
Two months after announcing the Sundance Square location, H&M said it would open a location at Ridgmar Mall in the fall.
Ridgmar said the 21,000 square-foot store is expected to be on the second floor of the west side of the mall, across from Macy’s. The store plans to carry men and women’s apparel, as well as a collection for children, ranging from newborn to age 14.
“We want to expand and make H&M’s collections accessible to a wide range of Fort Worth shoppers,” Falk said. “We see continued great potential in all our existing markets, as well as in markets where we have not yet opened.”
As one of the world’s largest fashion retailers, H&M said the brand emphasizes design, quality, affordability and sustainability. H&M values recycling, utilizing water and energy efficiency as initiatives within the brand. It also selects environmentally friendly materials and fabrics.
H&M also said the brand prides itself on supporting the local economy and plans to bring jobs to Fort Worth with the new locations.
“As a continuously expanding brand, we are constantly searching for new talent to grow with the company,” the retailer said.
H&M said there is no set opening date for the Sundance Square store.
