The Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival is soon to celebrate its 31st year as “The Art and Soul of Texas.”
Each year, the festival features hundreds of local artists.  It provides the artists with the opportunity to showcase their work as well as gives Fort Worth residents the chance to enjoy the collections.
Around 1,400 artists applied to be in last year’s show. Only 215 were selected.
This year’s festival, scheduled for April 14 through April 17, is accepting artist applications.

While artists can apply at a later date, early-bird applicants will receive a discount rate of $25 if they apply before August 15 at midnight.

Artists who enter this largest, nationally ranked arts festival are eligible for the $10,500 in cash prizes, along with the opportunity to showcase artwork to the many visiting buyers.

Jorge Narey Fernandez attended the festival for the first time last year.

“I thank [the festival’s organizers] for giving emerging artists, such as myself, this opportunity,” Fernandez said in April.  “Every other festival you have to be established and have a booth, which I didn’t have.”

To qualify for the discount, artist must submit five images, four of the artwork and one of the booth, along with an artist’s statement.
