The SMU Mustangs will arrive in Fort Worth this Saturday one year removed from a 56-0 beatdown loss to TCU in Dallas.

But this year’s Mustangs aren’t resembling last year’s 1-11 squad.

SMU played No. 4 Baylor close and beat North Texas last week, equaling their win total from last year.

TCU coach Gary Patterson said he’s not taking his crosstown rivals lightly, and expects a much closer game than last year’s edition of the Battle for the Iron Skillet.
