A four-goal outburst in the first half helped TCU cruise to a 5-0 win over Iowa State in its Big 12 opener Friday night.

TCU soccer dominated its Big 12 opener Friday against Iowa State with a commanding score of 5-0 .

Senior Makenzie Koch contributed three of the five goals, which gives her 39 career goals. She is now 10th in career goals at TCU.

TCU women have won seven of the last eight games, bringing their record to 7-4 for the season. During this streak, the Frogs have outscored their opponents 23-2.

“It’s good to be 1-0. It’s a great start for us,” head coach Eric Bell said. “In looking at the stat sheet, we have five different people scoring goals, that’s really good. I’m very proud of the group and the way they started off conference play.”

The Frogs take on Oklahoma State in their next Big 12 match up. The match is set 1 p.m. on Sunday at Garvey Rosenthal Stadium.
