The Cowtown Marathon is racing back to Fort Worth

Get your running shoes on, because the Cowtown Marathon is coming back to Fort Worth for its 38th year.
The races will take place Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. Saturday, Feb. 27 is the Adults 5K and Cook Children’s 5K, and Sunday is the Ultra Marathon.
Team and individual registration is open until the Friday before the race, Feb. 26. However the cost for registration increases after Jan. 22. You can find more information here, and register here.
The marathon will start at 7 a.m. and will have a time limit of seven and a half hours. Past Cowtown Marathon records include 2:17:12 for men and 2:42:31 for women.
As part of the weekend there is also the Cook Children’s 5K on Saturday. The run promotes The Cowtown C.A.L.F (Children’s Activities for Life & Fitness) Program which reaches out to children to educate them on proper fitness routines and nutrition in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The Cowtown gave the C.A.L.F. Program $200,000 in October last year. The $200,000 goes toward local children receiving proper training for running and to be fitted in quality shoes. The children will receive financial grants to help offset registration fees for The Cowtown’s Cook Children’s 5K Run.
