Students donated blood at the American Red Cross of North Texas and theCrew’s annual blood drive on Tues., Feb. 16, 2016.

TCU students had a chance to save three lives on Tuesday.

The American Red Cross of North Texas and theCrew partnered to host an on-campus blood drive for interested blood donors.

One donation provides assistance for up to three separate lives, according to the Red Cross. These donations are used for situations such as car accidents, cancer treatment and various ailments and diseases for which people need blood.

Nicola Kayton, service director for theCrew, said the club organized the event because its members are striving to focus more on service.

“We consider ourselves a service organization because we already get to serve students at TCU, and we wanted to add to that and bring students opportunities to serve others on campus too,” Kayton said. “So, we thought a blood drive would be perfect.”

TheCrew puts on a blood drive annually with the Red Cross. This drive was the third since the organization started hosting them.

Details for future blood drives on campus can be found on TCU Announce and what2do.tcu.edu.
