When it comes to weekend plans, one returning TCU organization is working to bring more students onto campus.

TheEnd, a student-run organization that provides safe and free entertainment for all students on Friday and Saturday nights, has played a role in students weekends for the past two years. The organization plans to continue providing exciting programs for students this fall.

“I want to make theEnd the number one choice for students on the weekend,” theEnd director, junior Kyler Tesch said. “I want theEnd to be the thing that students think of first.”

This year, sophomore Ashley Russell, the director of marketing for theEnd, said the organization will continue to encourage students to attend events through various social media platforms.

“We do social media contests for each of our events to hopefully entice people to participate and then also follow [theEnd],” Russell said. 

Russell also said she uses graphics and videos on theEnd’s social media accounts to allow students to learn more about the individuals performing at TCU.

Tesch said the work Russell has done with the social media accounts helps encourage students who live off-campus to attend events as well.

“Whether it is our Instagram, Twitter or our Snapchat, [Russell] does a great job; and, our goal is for people to be following [social media accounts],” Tesch said. “Not just on-campus students, but off-campus students. By doing that, reaching out to them, they’re aware of our events.”

First-year Allison Franken said theEnd events are a great way for her to get to know other students.

“I really like how creative they have been so far,” Franken said. “I’m excited to see what comes next.”

Franken is not the only student that said she enjoys theEnd events. Senior Lauren Graffeo said theEnd provides alternative options for students on the weekends.

“I think [theEnd] is a really good organization to have on campus,” Graffeo said. “It is a great outlet for students who want to do something on campus and don’t necessarily want to go out on the weekends.”

Events range from comedy shows to paint parties. Rachel Platten, Daymond John, and Nasim Pedrad are some individuals who will be coming to TCU this semester.

TheEnd will be hosting the first performer of the semester, Anjelah Johnson, on Friday night. Tickets are now available for students online. Students are allowed to bring one guest to the event.
