TCU Women’s Soccer defeated the Texas Tech Raiders 1-0 on Sunday.

Senior midfielders Brittany Little and Michelle Prokof combined to score the game-winning goal in the second half on a corner kick. Although Tech continued to fight until the end, hoping to score, the Frogs’ defense was able to hold them off.

The Frogs were playing to win. They finished the game with 17 shots, one save and 10 corner kicks. Texas Tech had 10 shots, 3 saves and 2 corner kicks.

TCU head coach Eric Bell said the Frogs had control of both halves.

“They’re [Texas Tech] a tough team to play against and a worthy opponent,” Bell said. “But, I thought our kids battled for the full 90 minutes.”

This win came for a good time for TCU. After a tough loss last Friday against the undefeated West Virginia Mountaineers, the Frogs only need one more victory to qualify for the Big 12 Championship tournament. One they are looking for in their upcoming match against the Texas Longhorns.

The Frogs will take on the Longhorns on Friday at 7 p.m. at Garvey Rosenthal Stadium.
