The Horned Frogs had another weekend of solid performances in track and field, making their third appearance this season in College Station.

Running Events

Junior Nicole Hicks, sophomore Kirsten Johnston and freshman Lindsay Tomaini opened up the meet Friday with second, fifth and eighth place finishes in the 5K. Hicks clocked in at 17:22.93, Johnston at 17:50.84 and Tomaini at 17:56.72.

Sophomore Brittney Trought ran a season-best in the 60-meter hurdles with a second- place time of 8.44 in the finals. Trought’s time of 8.44 ranks No. 5 on TCU’s all-time list.

Sophomore Kayla Heard won her heat and finished third overall in the 400 meters with a time of 54.21.

On the men’s side, sophomore Derrick Mokaleng, junior Kevin McClanahan and freshman Jostyn Andrews finished sixth, seventh and eighth in the 400 meters. Mokaleng ran a season-best time of 47.74 and McClanahan and Andrews finished behind a time of 47.93.

Junior Emeilo Ferguson took a first-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.75. Ferguson also posted a season-best time of 21.35 in the 200 meters, placing fifth.

For the women, senior Sabrina Moore recorded a season-best time of 24.28 in the 200 meters.

The women’s 4×400-meter relay squad of senior Tiffany Terry, Heard, senior Judy Emeodi and sophomore Jaden Davis placed fifth with a time of 3:44.41. The men’s 4×400 team of McClanahan, Andrews, freshman Ryan Champlin and Mokaleng recorded the nation’s No. 12 time as they finished third behind a time of 3:07.63.

Field Events

Senior Paola Miranda placed seventh in the weight throw, recording a mark of 53 feet 2 inches (16.21 meters).

Freshman Isaiah Rogers placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 56 feet 6 inches (17.22 meters).

Three Horned Frogs, freshman Ryan Camp and Isaiah Rogers and sophomore Justin Sanchez placed in the weight throw. Camp took sixth with a mark of 58 feet 9 inches (17.92 meters), Rogers placed seventh at 57 feet 5 inches (17.51 meters) and Sanchez took eighth with a mark of 57 feet (17.39 meters).

The Horned Frogs travel to Frisco, Texas to compete in the Frisco Invitational on Friday, Feb. 10.
