TCU Beach Volleyball announced the addition of two signees, Brooke Sassin and Kristy Weiser, to the 2017 class. The two graduate transfers bring the class four signees ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Sassin, a native of San Antonio, Texas, played three seasons of indoor volleyball at Kansas State University, where she was honored as a member of the All-Big 12 second team as a senior.

In high school, Sassin was awarded with both all-district and all-state honors as a senior. She tallied 462 kills, 300 digs and 40.0 blocks while leading the team to a 42-3 record in her final high school campaign. She scored her best statistical campaign during her junior year where she totaled 482 kills, 239 digs and 47.0 blocks.

“Her experience playing in the Big 12 as an indoor player is going to help us a lot,” head coach Hector Guttierez said. “Her all around skills make her a perfect fit for our beach program.”

Weiser played three seasons of indoor volleyball at Chattanooga where she was a two-time All-Big South Conference first-team selection. Weiser earned all-state honors as a middle hitter in high school and led her team to a Class B state championship in 2011.

“She’s going to give us more presence on the net,” Guttierez said. “We need to be a bit more physical this year, and Kristy is what we were looking for.”

Sassin and Weiser will join incoming first-year students Jordan Westendorf and Hannah Rogers, who signed their letters of intent in December.
