The Horned Frogs defeated Murray State and Jacksonville State, firing a team score of 4,726 that is tied for the third best mark in program history.
The team has fired TCU’s first and third highest scores in program history over its first four weeks of the 2017 season, a dominating start for a year filled with national title hopes.
Senior Mindy Miles led the field with the top aggregate score of the weekend at 1,187 and a match high 597 (out of 600) in air rifle. Miles continues to lead the team in her senior year, firing an aggregate score above 1,185 for the third time this season.
Junior Rachel Garner had her best match of the season with a 1,183 aggregate score and a match leading 591 mark in smallbore. Garner has improved her aggregate score in every match this season.
Senior Ariana Grabowski set career highs in aggregate score (1,177) and air rifle (592). Casey Lutz also set a career high in air rifle with a score of 596 and freshman Elizabeth Marsh’s score of 592 rounded out the teams top five scores in the event, all over 590.
The Horned Frogs host their first home match of the season this Saturday when they host Nebraska and Memphis. They defeated Memphis earlier this season by nearly 150 points.
After the home match this weekend comes the team’s biggest test of the season, when they travel to West Virginia on November 4. The two have combined for the seven highest aggregate scores in the NCAA this year.
