The No. 7 TCU equestrian team lost to the Texas A&M Aggies 16-3 Thursday in College Station.

In the Hunt Seat events, the Horned Frogs fell 8-2. Freshman Raegan Rast had an impressive ride in Fences, posting an 84, but lost the point to Aggie Rachael Hake who scored an 88. Sophomore Patty Gil earned a point with her 73-point ride.

“This was a tough day, but how we respond is going to be important,” Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield. “This makes us fight harder.”

TCU fell 8-1 in Western. Sophomore Jamie Cook earned the lone point in Horsemanship. Sophomore Carly Lombard had an impressive ride and looked like she won her point, but ended in a draw with Aggie Darby Gardner.

We have to remember that we won’t always play number one and number two back-to-back,” Schoolfield said. “We can affect our own mental game and physical skills, but everything else is out of our control.”

The Horned Frogs are now 2-3 on the season as they prepare to face conference rival Baylor on November 3 at Turning Point Ranch.
