“Thor: Ragnarok” offers lots of laughs and action but doesn’t offer much to stand out from the rest of the Marvel films.

“Ragnarok” is the third movie in the Thor series and this one follows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as he finds himself imprisoned on the other side of the universe. The planet he finds himself on puts him in a gladiator pit to fight his former teammate the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). He also has the challenge of getting back to his homeworld of Asgard before Hela (Cate Blanchett) destroys it.

Hemsworth did a fine job as Thor just like all the other movies. I did enjoy the new look they give him in this film and I hope that he will keep that look in “Infinity Wars.” I felt like Blanchett was weak in her role of the God of Death as the main villain. She didn’t bring the fear and power that her character needed to have.

Taika Waititi who played Korg a new character brought life to this movie that I absolutely loved. Even as a side character that holds no weight to the plot, Korg was hilarious and brought some the best moments to the film.

The movie had some fun and exciting action sequences. The fight scene between Thor and the Hulk is the most memorable fight with the jokes and was cool seeing these two powerhouses battle each other.

I found myself laughing for a lot of this film, but other than that the film is nothing special and will be a film I will soon forget. I find myself trying harder and harder to enjoy Marvel movies as they just keep pumping out movies that all feel the same and don’t offer anything new to the franchise.

Verdict:

While overall the movie is hilarious it lacks the punch of a powerful villain and is not a memorable movie. The movie is still fun and many will enjoy this installment in the MCU, sooner of later they will run out of ideas for superhero movies. Right?
