Twelve student-athletes from the TCU equestrian team earned All-Academic honors from the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Thursday.

Sophomores Laska Anderson, Carly Lombard and Josie Mootz were named to the Farnam NCEA All-Academic First Team.

Sophomores Jamie Cook, Patty Gill, Elena Hurd and senior Mady Fithian were named to the Farnam NCEA All-Academic Second Team.

Seniors Carley Barnett, Elizabeth Bohn, Marisa Malevitis, Jayme Omand and junior Marah Huston were named to the Farnam NCEA All-Academic Honorable Mention Team. This is the third All-Academic selection for Omand and the second for Huston.

“We are so proud of our NCEA All-Academic honorees,” head coach Haley Schoolfield said. “This year, and each year, our ladies work diligently in the classroom as well as in the arena.  These wonderful awards are a mere glimpse of what this team accomplishes.”

To be named to the First Team, Anderson, Lombard and Mootz maintained a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA and competed in a minimum 70 percent of meets.

Cook, Gill, Hurd and Fithian maintained a minimum 3.25 GPA and competed in at least 60 percent of meets to be named to the Second Team.

To be named honorable mention, Barnett, Bohn, Malevitis, Omand and Huston had a minimum 3.0 GPA and competed in at least 50 percent of meets.

The 12 selections to the All-Academic teams is the most in the equestrian program’s history. With this year’s selections, the team has a total of 54 selections.
