Women’s tennis falls to Baylor on senior night, 4-3

TCU battled but came up just short against No. 21 Baylor (12-11, 2-4) in their home finale, 4-3.

Marie Norris and Elizabeth Tedford defeated Baylor’s Angie Shakhraichuk and Dominik Sujova 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for the Frogs.

TCU’s Aleksa Cveticanin cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win in singles play to extend the Horned Frogs’ lead to 2-0 in the match, but Baylor responded with three straight victories to take a 3-2 lead.

Norris earned her second win of the match, beating Baylor’s Jessica Hinojosa 7-5, 6-1 to even the match at 3, leaving it all to play for on court three.

Baylor’s Kris Sorokolet defeated TCU’s Donika Bashota 7-5, 6-3 to secure the road victory for Baylor.

With the loss, TCU falls to 9-11 overall and remains winless in Big 12 play.

Up Next: 

TCU will travel to Stillwater to take on No. 10 Oklahoma State (15-2) Friday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m.
