After struggling on the road all season, TCU dominated in their final road match of the season, defeating West Virginia 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-21) to complete a regular-season sweep of the Mountaineers.
The Horned Frogs went down 13-10 to start the first set. Outside hitter Lexi MacLean sent a kill down the line to put TCU within one point just a few plays later, but West Virginia followed with a 4-0 run and finished with a 25-20 first-set victory.
MacLean would continue to be a presence for the Frogs, as she finished with 10 kills and 10 digs — her first double-double of the year.
The second set was a different story as TCU came out sharp and determined to rebound from their first-set defeat. An ace by libero Berklie Baker put TCU up 10-5, and they never looked back. They won 25-16 in dominant fashion to tie the match at 1-1.
Along with two service aces in the match, Baker would lead TCU on defense with a match-high 18 digs. This was her 17th match with double-digit digs this season.
Led by two of the most dominant first-years in the Big 12, outside hitter Élan McCall and middle blocker Katie Clark, the Horned Frogs would have no trouble winning the next two sets.
McCall was unstoppable on offense with a match-high 22 kills and career-high .583 hitting clip. She also posted 14 digs, giving her a double-double for the 12th time this season.
Clark was impenetrable on defense, tying a career-high six blocks.
Setter Tori Dilfer finished with more assists (48) than all of the Mountaineers combined.
The Horned Frogs will play Kansas at 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Rickell.
