Apple Music and American Airlines are teaming up

Apple announced a partnership with American Airlines that will allow passengers to stream content using free Wi-Fi during their flight.

A subscription to Apple Music is required in order to benefit from the exclusive offer that allows users to stream songs, podcasts, and music videos on any flight without the cost of in flight internet. 

According to CNBC, the partnership makes American Airlines the first airline to implement complimentary streaming to its passengers.

Content can be streamed across all Apple devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops. Users not yet subscribed can sign up for a free three-month trial.

The partnership is expected to take effect on Friday.

Below freezing temperatures disrupt delivery giants 

The Midwest and Northeast regions have experienced record setting lows in midst of winter storm, according to CNBC. 

Due to dangerously “low wind chill”, UPS has delayed package services in several areas in New York for specific safety reasons.

Companies like Amazon and FedEx have also experienced delays to their scheduled deliveries.

As of 10:00a.m. on Thursday, temperatures in Chicago sat at -11 degrees, but are expected to warm up this weekend.

The centennial of Jackie Robinson: 100-year legacy

Jackie Robinson would be 100 years old today. The true American hero is praised for his contributions in breaking the color barrier in baseball when he was playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. 

According to Fox News, an exhibit featuring Robinsons’ story in New York will open on Thursday called “In the Dugout with Jackie Robinson: An Intimate Portrait of a Baseball Legend.” The exhibit will be open until September.

The New York Times tells his story through a slideshow of images called “100 photos of an icon.”

Trump scheduled to meet with China’s Liu He

President Trump plans to make no final agreement on trade negotiations with China until meeting with Vice Premier Liu He. 

According to the New York Times, Trump has reinstated the idea of the United States increasing tariffs on Chinese imports to be implemented in early March. Raising the tariffs on $200 billion worth of imports serves as a tremendous threat to Chinese officials.

The two are scheduled to meet in the Oval Office on Thursday.

Sex trafficking arrests in Super Bowl host city 

Reports say 33 arrests have been made on charges for sex trafficking in Atlanta.

Four victims held captive have been rescued since the arrests. Experts said the high volume of people in the city attracts traffickers.

Due to the ongoing investigations, a Homeland Security investigations agent declined to identify any details on specific cases. 

According to Fox News, Atlanta Police said that security planning for the Super Bowl started over two years ago.   

Texas TV station canceled newscasts after death of director 

ABC affiliate KVII-TV in Amarillo, Texas canceled newscasts after Director Malcom Montgomery collapsed at work while making final preparations for the days newscast. 

No reports have been released confirming the cause of death.

According to Fox News, co-workers praised Malcom’s hard work ethic and “calm voice in the stressful storm.”  Shows were cleared to air on Wednesday.
