TCU soccer finished with a 1-1 draw against the No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowgirls in a double-overtime match.

The draw was TCU’s first of the season and the first tie between the squads since 2014.

“Tough, hard game,” head coach Eric Bell said. “Two good teams going at it in Big 12 action on a Sunday and it was hot. I thought the result was fair. I think Oklahoma State did a really good job. They are a good team.”

Yazmeen Ryan provided her team-leading seventh goal of the season with the late strike, giving TCU the lead in the 82nd minute.

Ryan’s seventh goal puts her at 10th all-time in TCU scoring and has her at almost double her career goal total this season. The last five goals for TCU have all been scored by Ryan.

The Cowgirls quickly closed on the lead and tied the match in the 88th minute to force overtime.

“I thought our team battled for 110 minutes and gave ourselves a chance to be successful, and we did that,” Bell said. “I am proud of that from that standpoint, but we have to be sharper in some areas from the soccer perspective.”

TCU was outshot both in shots, 21-19, and shots on goal, 8-4. TCU is now 7-0-1 when scoring first and 2-0-1 when in a scoreless tie at the half.

TCU will travel to Austin for their next match against the Texas Longhorns. First kick is scheduled for 7 p.m.
