Despite guards Lauren Heard and Kianna Ray combining for 41 points, the Horned Frogs fell short against No. 11 ranked Texas A&M Aggies 70-68 to suffer their first loss of the season.

Heard scored 20-plus points for the third-straight game.

A&M led by as many as seven in the first half, but the Horned Frogs tied the game 34-34 going into halftime.

TCU scored the first four points to start off the third quarter and continued to play strong, going up by as many as five points late in the second half.

The Frogs were up 66-63 with less than 1:30 to play, but A&M’s Chennedy Carter scored the final seven points for the Aggies, including the game-winning layup with three seconds left to play.

Carter put A&M up 68-66 with 32 seconds left, but Jayde Woods tied the game for TCU with 12 seconds left.  The Frogs got the ball back after Carter made what would be the game-winning free throw, but the inbounds play came up short.

TCU returns home this Sunday, Dec. 15 to host Ohio in another non-conference matchup. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at Schollmaier Arena.
