Corrections should appear on the front page.We do not write that we regret the error, and we do not restate the error.
Just give the date and page of story, say that it was incorrectly reported and give the correct information. Example: A Page 2 story Friday about [article topic] should have reported that [insert correction here].
If the number of corrections becomes cumbersome, split them into separate sentences. Example: …The story also should have reported that [insert further correction here].
Make sure the correction is approved by the editor-in-chief as soon as it is written by the responsible party. Then it will go through the editing process.
When possible, confine all corrections to the same box on the front page and separate corrections about different stories into paragraphs within that box. If more space is required, create another correction box.
