Olympic-bound athlete’s college track career ends with personal best

She is one of the most accomplished track and field athletes in the NCAA, earning a spot on her country's track and field team for the upcoming Beijing Olympics and receiving more All-American awards than any woman in TCU history.


Senior Virgil Hodge finished her final outdoor meet at the Lowden Track and Field Complex at TCU with a personal best in the 100 meters with a time of 11.26 and has continued working her way toward the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Team extends win streak to season high six games

The TCU baseball team continues its perfect streak in the month of April, defeating University Nevada, Las Vegas in the first of a three-game series.


A game winning double in the bottom of the ninth and two outs gave the Horned Frogs a 4-3 victory. The win also extends TCU's winning streak to seven games, its longest winning streak of the season.

Lady Frogs route second-round opponent

The women's basketball team won its second-round game in the Women's National Invitational Tournament on Saturday at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.


The Lady Frogs defeated the Boise State Broncos (24-8, 14-2 WAC) 85-56 and never trailed after first 15:55 mark in the first half.

The Lady Frogs took advantage of the University of Nevada Las Vegas defense and were able to put together a few scoring runs in the first and second halves, keeping a comfortable lead, while on the way to an 87-57 victory, and 11th conference win of the season.

The Lady Frogs' 68-53 setback against the No. 16 Utah Utes (24-3) (13-0) stopped the team's winning streak at seven games, but TCU has a good chance of starting a new one this weekend when they host UNLV.
