The TCU men’s tennis team will travel to Tulsa, Okla., to match off against the Golden Hurricane and the Golden Eagles in a Sunday doubleheader.

After a 5-2 victory over 19th-ranked Stanford, the Horned Frogs will again play a top 25 team with No. 17 Tulsa.

“There is no better way to renew team confidence than by winning against a top team,” head coach David Roditi said. “We believe now that we can beat any team, but now we have to go to Tulsa and do it.”

The Hurricane upset No. 18 Baylor this week, giving both TCU and Tulsa the confidence of having just beat a top opponent.

Roditi said the team was prepared mentally and physically to play at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, which he described as a tough environment with a relentless Tulsa crowd.

“We had time after Stanford to come back to Fort Worth and touch base and to prepare for the doubleheader with good practices this week," Roditi said. "The team is itching to win now."

He said the key to winning this weekend with a doubleheader would be gaining momentum from an early win in doubles and utilizing all nine players on the team.

“We will be relying on those players who don’t play against Tulsa for the match against Oral Roberts,” Roditi said. “It’s time for those players to step up.”

The game on Sunday will be Tulsa’s third straight Big 12 opponent after they travel to play a top-10 Oklahoma Sooner team Friday night.

The first serve against Tulsa is set for 12:00 p.m., with Oral Roberts immediately following at 4:30 p.m.
