College students seem to have a reliance on caffeine to get them through lectures and late night study sessions, but there are healthier alternatives to power through the day.

Frogs bring in C-USA honors

Conference USA honored two TCU athletes this week as “C-USA Outstanding Performers.”

Keleigh Wentworth, a freshman swimmer, took home the honor of C-USA swimmer of the week for the second straight week. She shaved nearly three seconds off her 1,000 yard freestyle time in the conference meet against Houston, despite a false final lap bell that robbed her of an even quicker time. Wentworth holds the season-bests among the C-USA teams in the 1,000, 500, and 1,500 freestyle events.

TCU middle distance runner Jackson Langat was selected as C-USA men’s indoor track & field athlete of the week.

Langat, a junior three-time All-American from Nairobi, Kenya, took first in the mile run and helped the mile relay squad post a 3:12.35.

Langat and the Flyin' Frogs will go to Houston next and be in action at the Leonard Hilton Memorial meet in the Yoeman Fieldhouse.
