Associated Press moves to TCU

The Schieffer School of Journalism will be the new home of the Associated Press’ Fort Worth bureau starting Oct. 1.

TCU’s journalism program is one of two in the nation to host an AP bureau. Associated Press Fort Worth Correspondent Angela K. Brown will located in Schieffer School’s Convergence Center in Moudy.

Brown graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. She has been with AP for over a decade and won multiple awards. She covered the Fort Hood shootings and the Texas Rangers’ federal bankruptcy case.

“We are excited about the opportunities for our students to view first-hand how a professional of this caliber operates on a day-to-day schedule. Her presence on campus is an excellent enhancement of our academic mission,” Dean of the College of Communication David Whillock said.

Director of the Schieffer School John Lumpkin said it was an honor to host the Fort Worth bureau. Lumpkin is a former AP Chief of the Bureau for Texas.

The AP bureau was previously located in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram offices.
